EV Charging Concept Made Easy for You

Are you planning to buy an electric vehicle (EV) and/or exploring the easy charging ways? Then this blog for is you to read.

There may be various reasons of spending on an EV is worth it. The most obvious is less cost of running, better performance, and environmentally friendly. In some areas, they score better than typical internal combustion engines and in a few others, they fall short. There is various type of subsidies being offered by the Indian government to promote the sale of EVs. Understanding the moot points of EV charging is necessary.

Charging at home:

To refill your gas vehicles, you have to compulsorily visit a gas station, but an EV can be charged at your home/office parking.  With Bharat AC 001 charger, your electric vehicle can be charged from an AC socket. The time of charging depends upon the kWh of the charger.

Places suitable for charger installation:

A wall-mounted or stand-mounted charger can be installed at your office, home, or any public place like malls, multiplex, universities, petrol pumps, hotels, and restaurants on highways.

Single charge range:

Currently, these days the standard range of an electric car is between 280-320kms on a single complete charge, while those of more expensive ones in the market have a range of 400+kms on a single charge.

Time taken to charge:

There are various factors to be considered for the time taken for charging an EV. Like the size of the battery or the kind of charging point. In general, it can take between 1 hour to 8-9 hours. Quick charging in just an hour is possible by using DC fast charger which are costlier than AC chargers.

Life span of an electric vehicle battery:

The standard battery life claimed by most of EV manufacturers is 7-8 years. There is a lot of technological innovation ongoing to increase battery life. In near future, we might come across electric cars with super batteries having a battery life of 15-20 years. One should avoid frequent charging to increase the battery life.

Charging Cost:

The cost of charging an electric vehicle may vary from state to state. The usual range of the battery is 20-45kWh. So if you are charging your electric vehicle at your residence with Bharat AC 001 charger, then the cost will depend on the power tariff in your state and may vary if your car is being charged at your office which is in a commercial space. It will be relatively cheaper to charge your electric vehicle at any charging station.

Locating a nearby charging station:

If your electric car is on low charge and you are not aware of any nearby charging location, then you can take the help of any of the various mobile apps or websites through which you can locate the charging stations. Companies like Griden, which have developed a wide network of charging stations have their own apps to help customers locate a charging station for that quick charge of their electric vehicle.

Final Note

India is in the transition phase, for an eco-friendly tomorrow. Electric vehicles and EV chargers are going to play a prominent role in it.
